A letter sent this week to the mayor and city council states that Austin will begin the countdown to the 2025 Major League Soccer All-Star Game with two nights of free public events in July.

On July 19 and 20, the "MLS All-Star Soccer Celebration" will take place at Lady Bird Lake Metropolitan Park's Auditorium Shores and Vic Mathias Shores. The event is suitable for the whole family and marks the first of a week of soccer-related activities leading up to the MLS All-Star Game on July 25 at Q2 Stadium.

MLS Season Pass will send the All-Star game to more than 100 countries and areas.

The party will take place from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every night and will include music, giveaways, interactive fan zones, and appearances by MLS players. There are also chances to get autographs, soccer-themed activities for people of all ages, and MLS watch parties. The event's organizers aim to demonstrate that Austin is both a sports city and the "Live Music Capital of the World."

Both nights are free to attend, and officials have not requested city fee waivers. Angela Means, Director of Austin's Office of Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment, states that the state's Major Events Reimbursement Program is the source of funding.

City leaders have said they support the effort, which aligns with a resolution passed by the Austin City Council in February that makes the city even more soccer-friendly.

People are expected to come to the city in large numbers for the five days of events surrounding the All-Star Game. This is the first time that Austin has held the MLS All-Star Game. The main event will take place at Q2 Stadium.

The city encourages people to celebrate this weekend and stay informed about future events by visiting the Office of Arts, Culture, Music, and Entertainment's website.

We expect to release more detailed schedules and announcements about individual events in the weeks leading up to the party.
