Austin FC Advances to U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinals, Set to Face San Jose Earthquakes

In the 2025 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Austin FC beat Houston Dynamo FC 3-1 on Wednesday night at Q2 Stadium and moved on to the next round. On Thursday, U.S. Soccer announced that Austin will go to PayPal Park to play the San Jose Earthquakes in the Quarterfinal Round. The game will take place either on Tuesday, July 8 or Wednesday, July 9. The exact date, time, and channel will be released soon.

The Verde & Black are continuing their deepest run yet in the country's oldest soccer event. This is a big step forward for them. The road ahead is still tough, with only three wins standing between them and the historic prize.

Austin FC would go to the Semifinal Round if they beat San Jose. There, they would either travel to Minnesota United FC to play them or host Chicago Fire FC on September 16 or 17. If the team makes it to the final, the championship game would be held at Q2 Stadium on October 1. This would give Austin fans a chance to see their team fight for its first big trophy at home.
