The family of 19-year-old Texas A&M student Brianna Aguilera has engaged two prominent Texas law firms and plans to hold a press conference on Friday, as investigators persist in their inquiry into Aguilera’s death, according to her attorneys on Wednesday.

Manuel Aguilera and Stephanie Rodriguez have engaged the services of the San Antonio-based Gamez Law Firm and the Houston-based Buzbee Law Firm to help them uncover the circumstances surrounding their daughter's situation, as attorney Tony Buzbee stated in a Facebook post. Buzbee expressed the family's belief in finding more information and their pursuit of answers.

Brianna Aguilera, a resident of Laredo, was discovered unresponsive early Saturday morning outside the 21 Rio apartment complex, in a bustling student housing district close to the University of Texas at Austin. The Austin Police Department reported that she fell from the 17th floor of the building. Initially, the department declared no signs of suspicious circumstances and refrained from treating the case as a homicide. However, following inquiries from KSAT, officials clarified that the investigation is still “open and ongoing.” The final determination of the cause of death is pending from the Travis County medical examiner.

Buzbee announced that he will hold a news conference with Aguilera’s parents at 1 p.m. on Friday at his office in downtown Houston. The Gamez Law Firm has announced its participation in the event. Gamez released a statement expressing solidarity with Brianna Aguilera’s parents and family during this challenging period and urging a comprehensive and meticulous investigation.

The attorney representing the family has called on anyone with information regarding Aguilera’s location on Nov. 28 to reach out to his office at 713-223-5393. “Regardless of how minor it may appear, we encourage you to contact us,” Buzbee stated. “We would like to have a conversation with you.”

Rodriguez told KSAT she has questions about the details investigators shared. “The narrative contains numerous inconsistencies,” she remarked.

Authorities reported that Aguilera had traveled to Austin to attend the football game between Texas and Texas A&M. On Wednesday, the Austin Police Department and the Travis County medical examiner declined to offer further comments. As the inquiry progresses, investigators have yet to disclose additional details.

The engagement of notable contingency firms highlights the family's determination to investigate the details surrounding Aguilera's death and to seek information from law enforcement and other parties who might possess pertinent insights. The upcoming news conference is expected to shed light on the family's concerns and outline the next steps.
