Wise will expand its North American office hub in Austin by 200% to 90,000 square feet across three floors at Domain Tower II in North Austin, the company announced on Sept. 8, positioning the site to support ongoing U.S. hiring and broader regional operations.

The Domain hub houses teams “from engineering and product to marketing and customer support,” and Wise says it has over 700 employees in the U.S. with hiring ongoing across functions.

The most recent development represents an important event in a multi-year expansion: Wise relocated to Domain Tower II in late 2023, occupying approximately 28,000 square feet on the 23rd floor, thereby establishing a comprehensive presence in Austin.

A year later, landlord Stonelake Capital Partners revealed a lease of 60,682 square feet on the 16th and 17th floors, which expanded Wise’s total footprint to nearly 90,000 square feet.

Austin Mayor Kirk Watson embraced the news, framing the investment as a testament to the strength of Austin’s tech economy. “Texas is committed to supporting global success stories like Wise as they grow their presence in the US. Wise is a great example of the kind of innovative, high-growth businesses that make Austin a leading hub for tech companies. Its success highlights the strength of our ecosystem—one that fosters entrepreneurship, attracts investments, and creates high-skilled jobs. It demonstrates that Austin remains one of the best places to start and grow a business,” Watson said.

Watson stated that it shows Austin continues to be among the top locations for launching and expanding a business.

The expanded square footage and collaborative teams highlight Austin’s significance as a key North American center for engineering, product development, and customer operations within the London-listed fintech.

The Domain build-out is a continuation of Wise’s previous promises to expand its workforce in Austin, following the establishment of its local office in 2022. This direction aligns with city officials' and economic developers' belief that Austin’s wider technology and talent landscape is in harmony with Wise's expansion.
